Tell Your Story

I attended my first author event last week. Hosted by a Christian bookstore in Newton, KS, the event highlighted 12 new authors. Most were way younger than I was, and the majority had written Christian fiction.

Everyone was very nice, and I enjoyed meeting them. I loved listening to their story and how each book’s idea came to life. It was such a gift to be able to share different websites and marketing ideas with others in the same mindset.

As I spoke to each of them, it was apparent that it wasn’t about money; that’s not why they were writing. Their passion was to share their story to help others.

Writing a book wasn’t my idea. If I’m honest, I would have never even considered it without God prompting me to write. I wasn’t excited about the idea at first, but the more I began to write, the more I began to enjoy it.

Each of us has a story to tell. You might feel like you are all alone in it and no one else has ever felt like you do, but that’s a lie. The enemy is only telling you that to isolate you. Talk with others, share your story, and listen to theirs.

Each person is uniquely different, but very much the same. We need each other, and that is why God gave us community.

What a blessing it is to help each other and share wisdom. Take what you have learned and pass it on to others.
