Learn New Things
My farmer husband and I recently had the opportunity to travel to Canada on vacation. The Canadian Rockies are breathtakingly beautiful. They are truly God’s creation, untouched.
Now, I will admit that I didn’t know much of anything about Canada before we traveled there. I just don’t keep up with what is going on in other countries around the world. It is so easy to get stuck in our own little normal.
The people were great; everyone we met was friendly and kind.
In the Vancouver airport, an elderly lady asked me if I was from Italy. I told her no; I was from Kansas. With a concerned look on her face, she stated that it is a really rough territory where you live.
I just smiled and told her to have a good day. In my head, I was thinking she must think Kansas is still the wild, wild West!
The next day, while making conversation with our young waiter, he asked where we were from. When I told him we were from Kansas; he had the same response as the lady in the airport.
Again, I just had to smile.
I am reminded that you don’t know what you don’t know. Try to be active in learning about other topics, countries, and what is going on in the rest of the world.
We get so wrapped up in our own heads and thoughts that it is easy to think life is just about you. That is so not true.
Friends, go outside, discover Nature’s unique beauty anywhere on this Earth because it never disappoints.
