It's All About Love

One day this past week, I was fortunate enough to watch two of our granddaughters. One is three years old, and the other is two. They are so much fun!

My mother-in-law had given me a large gingerbread house kit that was several years old. This was our morning activity.

The biggest concern was convincing them they could not eat the old candy and frosting!

We attempted to build the house, but the decrepit fondant did not want to cooperate. So, in the end, they each decorated a couple of walls with whatever they wanted to put on them and loved it.

The end result wasn’t anywhere close to the picture in my head. However, we made the best of it, and the girls had fun working together.

Making the best of things is what life is all about. This Christmas season, if you are stressed about what to buy or how you are going to pay for the gifts, make the best of it.

-Give the gift of words. Write a nice note or encouraging words in a card.

-Give the gift of time. Spend time talking with someone, or give them a coupon for something you will do for them.

The hustle and bustle of decorating, purchasing gifts, and attending parties can get the best of us. Take a moment to remember that Christmas is a profound reminder of God’s boundless love and the hope that entered the world through the birth of Jesus Christ.
